Law on the performance of geodetic activity.

This Law regulates the performance of geodetic activities and professional geodetic works in the field of state surveying, real estate cadastre, building cadastre and infrastructure cadastre and other professional geodetic works performed as services to legal and natural persons, professional exam and professional training and conditions for foreign persons performing professional geodetic works. This Law also regulates the basic structure, scope, public authorities and membership in the Croatian Chamber of Certified Geodetic Engineers (Chamber) by regulating the publicity of the Chamber's work, the Chamber's bodies, general acts adopted by the Chamber, entries in the Directory, registers and records of the Chamber, suspension and termination of membership in the Chamber, disciplinary bodies and disciplinary proceedings, and supervision over the implementation of related rules. This Law further transposes certain European Union directives into the national legislation (article 2). Professional geodetic works for technical and other needs means professional geodetic works performed as services to natural and legal persons and professional geodetic works performed according to special regulations, namely: professional geodetic works for the needs of spatial landscaping, professional geodetic works for the needs of construction, professional geodetic works for the needs of land consolidation (also agricultural land), professional geodetic works for the needs of declaring protected areas, professional geodetic works related to hydrographic surveying (also marine geodesy, facilities in the coastal zone and territorial sea, seabed facilities), professional geodetic works for the needs of administrative and legal or court proceedings, professional geodetic works for the needs of civil aviation, professional geodetic works in the field of mining, professional geodetic works on the protection and preservation of cultural property, professional geodetic works related to special state maps, professional geodetic supervision works, professional geodetic works of aerial surveying and other professional geodetic works performed as services to natural and legal persons. The performance of professional geodetic works related to the activity of hydrographic surveying means the provision of geodetic services related to the measurement of sea, river and lake depths, marine geodesy, geodetic surveying of coastal and marine structures, geodetic surveying of seabed and submarine structures, geodetic surveying in the banks of rivers and lakes and surveying of objects at the bottom of rivers and lakes and preparation of appropriate studies.
