Abstract
This Regulation amends certain provisions part of the Regulation on the fishing of bluefin tuna (Thunnus thynnus) with in-depth tools and conditions and criteria for exercising the right to award individual fishing quotas (originally published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Croatia 20/2019 and already amended in the Gazette 77/2019).
Changes are regarding the contents of article 5 (setting criteria for distribution of fishing quota) where a new paragraph (2) is added (for the purposes of allocating individual quotas for 2021, 30% of the quota shall be allocated to all vessels in a ratio corresponding to their individual share in the sum of tuna catches by all vessels through the period from 1 January 2017 to 31 December 2019 in such a way that each vessel's total catch during that period is reduced by the amount of the minimum annual catch within that three-year period. The reference quantity for the annual catch shall be the quantity of the catch recorded in the electronic database of the Fisheries Information System). In article 6, in the former paragraph 3, which becomes paragraph 2, after the words: "in 2019", the words: "and 2020" are now added. In article 9, the following paragraph (3) is added: Exceptionally, when allocating an individual quota for 2021, in terms of article 5, paragraph 2 of this Regulation, and in accordance with paragraphs 1 and 2 of this article, the utilization of the quota in 2019 shall be taken into account. Landing of tuna from commercial fishing with fishing gear is allowed in ports as listed in article 14 of the original text (this amending text adds two new port locations to the list).
