Abstract
This Regulation provides for the criteria, measures and requirements for animal health and certification conditions for imports of bees (Apis mellifera and Bombus spp.) from certain foreign countries.
At a certain point of destination where the hives are placed under the official control, the nuts are moved to new cages before being introduced into local communities.
Cage, nurturer and all other material that accompanied the bees from country of origin, has to be sent to a laboratory to search the presence of small hive beetle, their eggs and larvae and mites of Tropilaelaps species. After the laboratory procedure, examined material must be destroyed.
The Annex is an integral part of this Regulation.
