Abstract
This Regulation provides for general animal health requirements applicable to all stages of production, processing and marketing and the introduction from third countries of products of animal origin and products obtained from them, intended for human consumption.
Business operators at all stages of food production, processing and marketing of products of animal origin shall ensure the prevention of the spread of diseases that can be transmitted to animals in accordance with the provisions of this Regulation.
Products of animal origin must be obtained from animals that were qualified for the health standards in accordance with the relevant special Regulations.
The Annex is an integral part of this Regulation, containing technical data and related information.

Entry into force notes
This Regulation enters into force eight days after its publication in the Official Gazette, except for certain provisions of the articles 4, 5 and 6 that will enter into force on the day of Croatian entrance into the European Union.
