Abstract
This Regulation prescribes the procedure and method for authorizing official and reference laboratories for the analysis of food and feed, the conditions to be met by the official and reference laboratories for food and feed when performing analysis of samples taken by the official controllers, official duties of the reference laboratories, as well as the list of areas that need to authorize the reference laboratories.
The official laboratory is a separate legal entity or organizational unit within the legal person where are performed the analysis of food and feed for the purpose of official controls.
The Annexes I-III are an integral part of this Regulation.

This Regulation enters into force eight days after its publication in the Official Gazette.
Notes
On the effective date of this Regulation, the Regulation on authorized testing laboratories for quality control of food (Official Gazette 92/06), the Regulation on the conditions regarding professional staff, premises and equipment for health and other entities when performing analysis and super-analysis of foods and items of general use (Official Gazette 62/99) and the Regulation on conditions to meet by laboratories for testing the animal feed (Official Gazette 120/98) will be no longer in force.
