Abstract
This Regulation provides standards and rules for the quality of cocoa and chocolate products, which are marketed for human consumption, and refers to: a) terms, definitions and general requirements that must be met; b) the composition; c) type and quantity of raw materials and other substances used in production and processing; d) additional or specific requirements for labelling and marking.
Products may contain other sugars that are not regulated by the special regulation governing the sugar quality.
The use of additives is provided by a special regulation governing food additives permitted in food.
To determine product compliance with the prescribed general quality requirements for official controls, methods prescribed by special regulation, and other validated and internationally recognized methods are used.
The Annex is an integral part of this Regulation.
