Abstract
This Regulation establishes the list of species and habitat types whose conservation requires the determination of the ecological network area (reference list of species and habitats), including priority wild species and priority natural habitat types, as well as a way of showing the zoning of all the above mentioned areas in relation to the distribution of target species and habitat types.
This Regulation also defines the responsibilities of public institutions managing protected areas and areas of the ecological network to manage and adopt ecological network management plans.
This Regulation transposes into the legal order of the Republic of Croatia the provisions of Annexes I, II and III of the Council Directive 92/43/EEC of 21 May 1992 on the conservation of natural habitats of wild fauna and flora, as last amended by Council Directive 2013/17/EU of 13 May 2013 on the adaptation of certain Directives in the field of the environment following the accession of the Republic of Croatia; and Annex I of the Directive 2009/147/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 30 November 2009 on the conservation of wild birds (codified version).
The Annex is part of this publication (selection criteria; complete codified list of habitats and species).
