Abstract
This Regulation provides the conditions that the composition and labeling must meet for the food intended for weight reduction, for energy-restricted diets. Food intended for weight reduction is considered as food for special dietary needs.
Food intended for weight reduction is a special composition of foods that can be used in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
Food intended for weight reduction is divided into two categories: a) food which is intended as a substitute for the total daily food intake; b) food which is intended as a substitute for one or more servings of food intake.
Full Annex is an integral part of this Regulation.

Entry into force notes
This Regulation enters into force eight days after its publication in the Official Gazette.
Notes
On the effective date of this Regulation, the Regulation on food for special dietary needs (Official Gazette 81/2004) will be no longer in force, in part related to food intended for weight reduction.
