Abstract
This Regulation establishes the method and procedure for the monitoring food in order to determine the level of nutrients, contaminants, additives and other ingredients, which aims to determine the intake of certain ingredients or substances in to the body and risk assessment of population health.
The objectives of the monitoring are: a) determining the level and trends of pollutants, additives, nutrients and other ingredients in the food, present on the Croatian market and assessment of entry into the body of ingredients and substances; b) comparison of results obtained with the current international reference of toxicological and nutritional value and assessment on their impact on human health; c) check the applicable standards and maximum allowable amount prescribed for certain types of food; d) collecting and evaluating data and risk assessment.
The plan must include: a) a list of foods to be analyzed b) the list of nutrients, contaminants, additives and other ingredients and substances that will be analyzed; c) the number of specimens and quantity for sampling species with respect to the required parameter; d) place and time schedule of sampling; e) the method of sampling; f) analytical methods.
