Abstract
This Regulation establishes the methods and procedures for the monitoring of food to determine the level of nutrients, contaminants, additives and other ingredients, which aims to determine the intake of certain ingredients or substances in the body and the risk assessment of population health.
The objectives of the monitoring are: to determine the levels and trends of pollutants, additives, nutrients and other ingredients in food present on the Croatian market; to estimate the quantity of harmful substances and ingredients; to compare the results with standards internationally accepted with reference on toxicological and nutritional values, and the evaluation of their impact on human health and frequent checks over the standards and maximum permissible limits prescribed for certain types of food; collecting and evaluating data, and risk assessment planning.
