Abstract
This Regulation lays down specific hygiene rules for food of animal origin, which must comply with undertakings in the food business. These rules complement those that are prescribed by the Regulation on food hygiene. They apply to unprocessed and processed products of animal origin.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, this Regulation shall not apply to food containing both products of plant origin and processed products of animal origin. However, processed products of animal origin used in the preparation of such foods must be obtained in accordance with the requirements of this Regulation.
Companies in the food business must comply with the relevant provisions of this Regulation, with a regard to HACCP standards and procedures.
Full Annex I, II and III are an integral part of this Regulation, containing information, technical requirements and standards.
