Abstract
This Regulation defines some specific environmental protection measures (with the aim to protect the environment and human health) aimed to prevent and/or reduce the harmful effects of the generation/accumulation and management of waste deriving from electrical and electronic equipment (also called the EE waste).
The rules here provided are also aimed to implement the techniques for the reduction of the overall/global effects caused by the generation of electrical and electronic equipment waste.
This Regulation further determines the necessary conditions for the management of EE waste in order to prevent its generation, ensuring its reuse, recycling and other recovery in accordance with the rules stipulated by the Directive 2012/19/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 4 July 2012 on waste electrical and electronic equipment; determines the obligations for designers, constructors, manufacturers, sellers and users, and in particular those involved in the collection and recovery of EE waste and disposal of remnants of such waste.
The Annex is an integral part of this Regulation.
