Abstract
This Regulation prescribes the obligations of the owner of polychlorinated biphenyls and polychlorinated terphenyls (or PCBs), waste PCBs and equipment containing PCBs and the method of registration of owners of equipment containing PCBs. This Regulation also prescribes the method of storage and transportation of waste PCBs and equipment containing PCBs, the obligation to make a list of equipment containing PCBs, the method of registration, marking and maintenance of equipment, and the procedure in case of leakage of equipment; and prescribes the obligation to create a plan for decontamination and/or disposal of equipment, the method of decontamination and disposal of equipment, the method of labeling equipment after decontamination, and the method of measuring PCB content in products. This text further adopts the provisions contained in the Council Directive 96/59/EC on the disposal of polychlorinated biphenyls and polychlorinated terphenyls (PCB/PCT).
The Annex is also part of this text (reporting form samples; and incomplete list of waste containing PCBs- waste catalog).
