Abstract
This Regulation prescribes market standards for the fruit and vegetable sector, certain processed fruit and vegetable products and the banana sector, the content, form and method of maintaining a database of traders operating in the aforementioned sectors, and the control of compliance of products from the aforementioned sectors with market standards.
Marketing standards are a set of rules that apply to products at all stages of marketing (including import and export) of products from the fruit and vegetables sector and some stages of marketing of products from the banana sector (green bananas), and may include the following: product quality requirements (minimum requirements and maturity requirements); product grading; product size; product weight; packaging; presentation (uniformity and packaging) of products; product labelling; transport and storage; marketing.
