Abstract
This Regulation defines control and eradication measures to be used in case of African horse sickness.
The occurrence or suspected occurrence of African horse sickness must be reported immediately to the competent authority.
Vaccination against African horse sickness can be administered only in accordance with the provisions of this Regulation.
On the infected area the following measures must apply: a) all holdings containing equidae within the area must be determined; b) official veterinarian must conduct periodic visits to all holdings containing equidae, clinical examination of these ungulates, including, if necessary, collection of samples for laboratory testing, and records of visits and findings.
The Annex is an integral part of this Regulation.

Entry into force notes
This Regulation enters into force on 1 January 2009 except for the provisions of article 17, paragraph 3 that will enter into force after the Croatian entrance into the European Union.
