Abstract
This Regulation sets the necessary methods and procedures for the management of waste deriving/arising from all activities related to the medical sector residues and medical and veterinary practices (on humans and animals, including research and other blood residues and/or similar generated waste/residue).
The rules here stipulated are regarding the collection and transport activities, medical waste treatment processes, including the monitoring of such activities and procedures, and monitoring over the correct treatment if performed by an intermediary and/or secondary dealer.
As defined by this Regulation, the management of radioactive medical waste and other types of waste arising from various healthcare activities will be determined by other special Regulations.
