Regulation on mutual assistance between the administrative bodies of Member States and cooperation between the latter and the European Commission in order to ensure the proper application of legislation on veterinary regulations.

This Regulation prescribe the means by which the competent authorities in all Member States responsible for monitoring of the veterinary regulations shall cooperate with those in other Member States and with the relevant services of the European Commission in order to ensure the general necessary compliance with veterinary legislation.
This text transposes the following acts of the European Union: Council Directive 89/608/EEC of 21 November 1989 on mutual assistance between the administrative authorities of the Member States and cooperation between the latter and the Commission to ensure the correct application of legislation on veterinary and zootechnical matters; and Regulation (EU) 2016/1012 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 8 June 2016 on zootechnical and genealogical conditions for the breeding, trade in and entry into the Union of purebred breeding animals, hybrid breeding pigs and the germinal products thereof and amending Regulation (EU) No 652/2014, Council Directives 89/608/EEC and 90/425/EEC and repealing certain acts in the area of animal breeding.
