Abstract
This Regulation prescribes the requirements to be met by natural mineral and natural spring water for use, processing and marketing, and is related to: a) physical, chemical, physico-chemical and sensory properties and composition; b) allowed technological processes and processing methods; c) analytical methods; d) additional labelling requirements; e) microbiological criteria.
This Regulation prescribes the procedure to be carried out before placing the natural mineral and natural spring water on the market.
Natural mineral water differs from ordinary drinking water: a) with its natural properties that characterize the content and quantity of certain minerals, trace elements or other substances, and certain effects; b) with its original state; c) with both properties preserved because of the underground origin of natural mineral water that is protected from any risk of contamination.
The Annex is an integral part of this Regulation.

Entry into force notes
This Regulation enters into force eight days after its publication in the Official Gazette.
Notes
On the effective date of this Regulation, the Regulation on natural mineral and natural spring water (Official Gazette 57/09, 85/09, 42/11) will be no longer in use.
