Abstract
This Regulation establishes the general rules for the implementation of official controls in order to verify compliance with the provisions governing: a) preventing, eliminating or reducing, to an acceptable level of risk to human and animal health, directly or through the environment; b) ensuring fair practices in the distribution of food and feed, and to protect the interests of consumers, including the labelling of food and feed, and other forms of information to consumers.
Implementation of official controls in accordance with the provisions of this Regulation shall not preclude the primary responsibilities of the food and feed organizations or subjects, in order to ensure the safety of food and feed, in accordance with the provisions of the Food Act, and any civil law or criminal liability arising from failure to meet their obligations.
Full Annex is an integral part of this regulation.
