Regulation on organic farming.

This Regulation defines the following issues: tasks and responsibilities of the Croatian Ministry responsible for agriculture and closely regarding the implementation of the production rules, the conditions for authorization of control bodies, the obligations and duties of control bodies, the methods and conditions for registration in the Register of operators in organic production; This Regulation further prescribes the rules governing the use and management of the database of agricultural reproductive material, the rules for exceptions from ordinary production rules, the rules for shortening of the transitional period, and catalog of sanctions and rules for the content and size and appearance of the national eco-labelling of organic products; all issues and provisions related to the organic farming on the territory of the Republic of Croatia.
This text transposes and respects the provisions contained in the following documents: Council Regulation (EC) No. 834/2007 of 28 June 2007 on organic production and labelling of organic products and its repealing Regulation (EEC) No. 2092/91, that was last amended by the Council Regulation (EU) no. 517/2013 of 13 May 2013 on the adaptation of certain regulations and decisions in the areas of free movement of goods, free movement of persons, company law, competition policy, agriculture, food safety, veterinary and phytosanitary policy, transport policy, energy, taxation, statistics, trans-European networks, the judiciary and fundamental rights, justice, freedom and security, environment, customs union, external relations, foreign, security and defense policy and institutions for Croatian accession into the Union; Commission Regulation (EC) No. 1235/2008 of 8 December 2008 on detailed rules for the implementation of Council Regulation (EC) No. 834/2007 with regard to the arrangements for imports of organic products from foreign countries, that was last amended by the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/2345 of 15 December 2015 and its amending Regulation (EC) No. 1235/2008 on the detailed rules for the implementation of Council Regulation (EC) No. 834/2007; and Regulation (EC) no. 889/2008 of 5 September 2008 on detailed rules for the implementation of the Council Regulation (EC) No. 834/2007 on organic production and labelling of organic products with regard to organic production, labelling and control, that was amended by the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) no. 1358/2014 of 18 December 2014 and its amending Regulation (EC) No. 889/2008 on detailed rules for the implementation of Council Regulation (EC) No. 834/2007 regarding the origin of animals (organic aquaculture), breeding practices in aquaculture, animal feed and ecological aquaculture products and substances authorized for use in organic aquaculture.
