Abstract
This Regulation, based on the provisions of the Croatian Law on agriculture, prescribes additional rules and requirements for strong alcoholic beverages, as well as additional rules in relation to the requirements regarding the description, presentation and labelling of strong alcoholic beverages, the application form for registration of related label name for strong alcoholic beverages, forms for temporary or standard modification of the specification or for canceling of registration of applied labels, including the appearance and method for labelling, the content and method of keeping label records (Register of users of labels), and methods for conducting analysis of strong alcoholic beverages. This text ensures the implementation of Regulation (EU) 2019/787 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the definition, description, presentation and labelling of spirit drinks, the use of the names of spirit drinks in the presentation and labelling of other foodstuffs, the protection of geographical indications for spirit drinks, the use of ethyl alcohol and distillates of agricultural origin in alcoholic beverages, and repealing Regulation (EC) No. 110/2008.
