Abstract
This Regulation, in order to prevent the introduction of avian influenza on the Croatian territory, prohibits the importation and transit from Tulcea region, Romania of: a) live poultry, ratites (kiwi, emu, ostrich and nandu), farmed and wild feathered game, including birds accompanying their owners (pet birds); b) day-old chicks; c) hatching and table eggs; d) seeds of poultry, ratites and wild fowl; e) fresh and frozen meat of poultry, ratites and wild fowl; f) products of poultry, ratites and wild fowl, which are not processed in a manner that would certainly destroy the avian influenza virus; g) products of animal origin (from birds) intended for animal feed, industrial use or for use in agriculture; h) untreated hunting trophies from any birds and untreated feathers or parts of feathers.
The prohibition is not applied for: a) hermetically sealed heat-processed canned meat poultry and game birds that have been subjected during the manufacturing process with a Fo value of 3 or more, or permanent preservative; b) heat-processed products where during the processing time the temperature reached at least 70 ° C in the center of the product; c) the products of egg that were subjected to heat treatment in the production of powdered eggs, pasteurization or sterilization; d) feathers or parts of feathers that have the supporting documents confirming that they are treated with hot steam or some other method to ensure that the consignment cannot transmit pathogenic agents.

This Regulation enters into force on the day of its publication in the Official Gazette.

Upon the entry into force of this Regulation, the Regulation on the prohibition of imports into the Republic of Croatia and the transit through the territory of the Republic of Croatia of poultry and poultry products from some EU member states in order to prevent the introduction of avian influenza (Official Gazette 127/09) will be no longer in use.
