Abstract
This Regulation provides for all necessary quality requirements governing the production and marketing of sardine products also including: names, definitions and general requirements; type and quantity of raw ingredients, added ingredients and other substances used in production and processing; additional labelling requirements.

This Regulation enters into force eight days after its publication in the Official Gazette.
Notes
This Regulation transposes the provisions of the Council Regulation (EEC) No. 2136/89 of 21 June 1989 laying down common marketing standards for preserved sardines; and Directive 2000/13/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 March 2000 on the approximation of the Laws of the Member States related to the labelling, presentation and advertising of foodstuffs.
