Abstract
This Regulation provides for requirements for the production and placing on the market of salt intended for human consumption (as food ingredient, food condiments), and sets out the necessary production rules (technological procedures, salt iodization) related to salt.
This text sets out official names, definitions and general requirements; physico-chemical properties; and additional labelling requirements. Salt labelling details are laid down in article 4; physico-chemical properties of salts in article 7; technological procedure for salt iodization in article 10; and conformity issues in article 12.
