Regulation on training for safe handling and correct application of pesticides.

This Regulation prescribes the areas of basic and supplementary education, the duration of education, the renewal of knowledge through supplementary education, the content of training manuals and programs, the method and course of conducting training and passing exams, the methods of announcing training, the method of conducting classes in the virtual classroom, the appearance and content of certificate of completion of training, registration of training participants and enrollment in the Phytosanitary Information System, evaluation of lecturers and conducted training, keeping records of conducted training and training participants, use of electronic credentials (hereinafter: credentials) of appropriate level for access to FIS and general principles of integrated plant protection. The purpose of this text is to regulate the area of training for professional users of pesticides, professional users for professional application, distributors and advisors for acquiring and renewing appropriate knowledge on the safe handling and proper application of pesticides in order to achieve the goals of sustainable use of pesticides by reducing risks and effects on human health and the environment and the application of general principles of integrated plant protection.
This text also incorporates the Annexes I and III of the Directive 2009/128/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing a framework for Community action to achieve the sustainable use of pesticides into the Croatian legislation.
