Abstract
This Regulation provides measures to reduce the prevalence of zoonoses and zoonotic agents in turkeys.
Basic goals of this Regulation are to: a) reduce the maximum percentage of flocks of turkeys that remain positive for Salmonella Enteritidis and Salmonella Typhimurium at 1% or less until 31 December 2012; b) reduce the maximum percentage of adult breeding flocks of turkeys, which remain positive for Salmonella Enteritidis and Salmonella Typhimurium at 1% or less until 31 December 2012. If in the country there are less than one hundred adult breeding turkey flocks, turkeys may remain positive up to one flock.
Testing schemes to verify the achievement of objectives set out in article 1 are listed in the Annex of this Regulation.
Annex I is an integral part of this Regulation.
