Abstract
This Decree is composed of 4 chapters: General rules (1), Detailed rules of uniform registration system of cattle (2) (REPEALED), Detailed rules of uniform registration system of horses (3), and Detailed rules of uniform registration system of sheep (4) (REPEALED). Animals belonging to cattle, buffalo, horse and sheep species, independently of their destination, must be marked permanently and registered (art. 2). For this purposes breeding farms must be also registered. Organization, management and supervision of the system is the duty of the National Institute for Agricultural Quality Control together, respectively, with the veterinary and food control stations for cattle and buffalo, the Association of Hungarian Horse Breeders and Equestrian Sports for horses, and the Association of Hungarian Sheep Breeders for sheep (art. 3). Article 4 determines the duties of breeders. Only qualified and authorized persons should mark animals. Under Article 6, a database, forming part of the National Stockbreeding Database is established in the interest of uniform registration of animals. Inspection and sanctions are set out in Article 7.
