Decree No. 79 of 2004 (V. 4.) FVM of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development laying down implementing provisions of Act No. LV of 1996 on the protection and management of wildlife and on hunting.

This Decree lays down detailed rules for the implementation of the basic Act. In particular, it lists fair game, regulates hunting right and right holders, determines hunting areas, rules on lease of hunting right, it provides for establishing of game preserve and park. Furthermore, it provides rules concerning the register of hunting areas, captive breeding, hunting seasons, wildlife management plans, the role of professional hunter, marking of game, hunting book, hunting licence, sanctions for offenders, hunting exam, hunting gears and methods, procedures and form of hunting, damages caused by wild animals and damage assessment, wildlife management and wildlife protection penalty, the hunting authority and game meat trading.
