Joint Decree No. 73 of 1997 of the Ministries of Agriculture and of Environmental Protection and Country-planning on protected fish species and other aquatic animals, and on closed seasons of some fish species.

In fishing areas the catch of protected species listed in Annex 1 is prohibited through all the year. Some species cannot be catched in the closed seasons specified in Annex 2. Closed seasons may be modified annually by the fisheries authority. In certain cases these prohibitions may be lifted by the nature conservation authority. Accidentally catched organisms must be put back in their habitat.
