Abstract
This Government Regulation implements provisions on the use of forests and of forest areas for non-forestry development activities. These activities may be carried out only in production forest areas and in protected forest areas without altering the main function of forest areas.
The Regulation specifies non-forestry development activities, which include mining, water resource facilities and infrastructures, water installation networks, public facilities and clean water and waste water channels. Forest areas may be used only in possession of forest area lend use permits. Procedures and requirements for obtaining permits are set out in the Regulation.
The Regulation further provides for: obligations of permit holders; the monitoring and evaluation of permit holders by the Minister; reasons for revoking permits; sanctions; etc.
