Abstract
This Government Regulation, consisting of 36 articles, concerns quality assurance and safety of fishery products, the increasing in the added value of fishery products and the guarantee of the availability of raw materials for the fish processing industry. According to the definition of the relevant terms, fishery is intended as all activities related to the management and utilisation of fish resources and their environment from pre-production, production, processing to marketing carried out in a fishery business system; other relevant terms defined are: raw materials, auxiliary materials, fish, fishery products, added value of fishery products, fish processing products, certification, quality control.
The Regulation provides for the activities included in the fishery product quality and safety assurance system and covers the following matters: development and implementation of raw materials requirements; development and implementation of hygienic requirements, handling and processing techniques; development and implementation of product quality requirements; development and implementation of facilities and infrastructure requirements; development and implementation of test method requirements and standard; quality control, audit, inspection and sampling; issuance of certificates of eligibility for processing and health certificate for fish products. The Regulation defines the following activities related to the increasing of added value of fishery products: handling of raw materials; processing of fishery products; distribution of fishery products.
