Abstract
This Government Regulation, implementing provisions of Law Number 5 of 1990 concerning the Conservation of Natural Biological Resources and their Ecosystems, provides for protection of plant and animal species, in order to: prevent the danger of extinction, maintain their genetic purity and diversity, maintain the balance and stability of the existing ecosystem. Matters covered by this Regulation concern: methods of conservation, including: determining and classifying protected and unprotected species, managing plant and animal species and their habitats, maintaining and breeding; determination of plant and animal species; inventory and monitoring of habitats; compliance with conservation standards; shipping and transportation of plant and animal species; measures for dangerous and harmful animals.
