Government Regulation (PP) Number 108 of 2015 concerning Amendments to Government Regulation Number 28 of 2011 concerning Management of Nature Reserve Areas and Nature Conservation Areas

This Government Regulation, implementing provisions of Article 24 paragraph (3) of Law Number 21 of 2014 concerning Geothermal Energy, provides for amending the Government Regulation no. 28 of 2011, by regulating the geothermal energy exploitation in conservation forest areas. The Regulation defines the following relevant terms: nature reserve areas; nature conservation areas; biological natural resources; ecosystem conservation; wildlife sanctuary; protection of habitats; conservation and management measures; nature tourism park; utilisation of wild plant and animal species; utilisation of environmental services; captive breeding; community participation. Amendments concern: activities allowed in national parks, including: scientific research; education and increasing awareness of nature conservation; traditional use by local communities; carbon storage and absorption, utilisation of water, water energy, wind, solar energy, geothermal energy, and nature tourism; activities allowed in forest parks, including: programmes for increasing conservation of biodiversity, utilisation of plants and wild animal; animal production, granting access to collect non-timber forest products in traditional zones.
