Abstract
This Governmental Regulation, implementing provisions of article 56 of the Law no. 32 of 2014 concerning Marine Affairs, provides for the management of sedimentation results in the sea, in order to: ensuring ad adequate level of protection of the marine environment; improving the carrying capacity of coastal and marine ecosystems; ensuring the safety of the marine resources. The Regulation defines the following relevant terms: sedimentation results in the sea, as sediments in the form of natural materials formed by weathering and erosion processes; control and utilisation of sedimentation results; non-tax state revenue. The objectives of the Regulation are: overcoming sedimentation, in order to reduce the carrying capacity of the coastal and marine ecosystem; and optimising the management of the sedimentation results, in order to improve rehabilitation of the marine ecosystem. The Regulation covers the following matters: planning activity; control and management; utilisation; monitoring and supervision; administrative sanctions.
