Government Regulation (PP) Number 37 of 2012 concerning River Watershed Management.

This Government Regulation, implementing provisions of article 3 of the Forestry Act no. 41 of 1999, and the provisions of article 18 of Law no. 7 of 2004 on Water Resources, provides for: improving the carrying capacity of river and watershed, and thus reducing flooding, landslides, erosion, sedimentation and drought; managing water resources and implementing river basin management. The Regulation covers the following terms: river basin; watershed management; watershed classification. Matters covered by this Regulation concern: watershed inventory, including: watershed boundary determination process, criteria for watershed classification; preparation of a river basin management plan, based on the following characteristics: water quality, land conditions and level of erosion, investment in water structures; data and information regarding watersheds and river networks; application of soil and water conservation techniques; land reclamation; community participation in watershed management; watershed management information system.
