Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 25 of 2021 Concerning the Implementation of the Energy and Mineral Resources Sector.

This Regulation, in order to implement the provisions of Article 39, Article 41, Article 42, and Article 185 letter b of Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation, concerns: minerals and coal, geothermal energy, and electricity production. The Regulation defines the following relevant terms: business actors; special business permit for mining activities; improving the quality of coal; direct and indirect utilisation of geothermal energy; survey activity; exploration; feasibility study; electricity generation; electricity supply; electricity distribution; compensation for land rights; business classification; certification. Matters covered by the Regulation include: issuance of environmental permit for minerals exploration; procedural matters concerning coal, minerals, geothermal energy and electricity production; preparation of a National Electricity General Plan and regional plans.
