Regulation of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia no. 20 of 2021 on control of abandoned areas and lands.

This Regulation, implementing provisions of the Law no. 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation, and of the Law no. 5 of 1960 on Basic Agrarian Principles, and consisting of 40 articles, provides for control of abandoned areas and lands. The Regulation concerns: right to control, own, use and preserve the land; concessions and licenses; obligations of right holders and cultivation of lands. The Regulation focuses on the following abandoned areas: mining areas, plantation areas, industrial areas, tourism areas. Matters covered by this Regulation include: inventory of areas and lands indicated as abandoned; control, evaluation, designation and warning of abandoned areas and lands; utilisation of abandoned areas and lands for agricultural and non-agricultural purposes.
