Abstract
This Regulation, consisting of 14 Chapters and 3 Attachments, establishes the need to stipulate a Regulation of Head of Drug and Food Control Agency on Processed Food Registration. It regulates and defines processed food as follows: food or beverage as a result of processing by specific means or method with or without additive, including certain processed food, food additive, genetically engineered food, and irradiated food. It also establishes the requirements for treated and processed food import, specifying conditions, storage, labelling, licensing and all related matters in order to perform the above mentioned activity.

This regulation shall enter into force on 12 December 2011.
Notes
This Regulation repeals: Decree of Head of Drug and Food Control Agency No. HK.00.05.52.4321 Year 2003 on General Guidelines on Labeling of Food Product; and Decree of Head of Drug and Food Control Agency No. HK.00.05.1.2569 Year 2004 on Criteria and Procedure of Assessment of Food Product.
