Abstract
This Regulation provides for the realization of an effective fostering and supervision system for the security, quality and nutrition of food. Chapter II deals with matters relating to food safety such as: sanitary requirements; food additives; genetically engineered food products; food irradiation; food package; food quality guarantee and laboratory analysis; and, contaminated food. The head of the agency in charge of national standardization shall stipulate the food quality standards known as the Indonesian National Standard and shall issue food quality certification (Chapter III). Any kind of food imported into or exported from the Indonesian market shall meet food security requirements as described in Chapter IV. Chapter V and VI deal with matters related to supervision and fostering, and public participation.
