Abstract
This Regulation, based on Government Regulation No. 6 of 2007 regarding Forest Management and Preparation of Forest Management Plan, and Forest Utilization as amended, establishes social security standards in Forest Areas. It aims at reducing poverty, unemployment and inequality in forest areas, through forestry activities management in the form of village forest management, community forestry permits, community plantation forestry, forestry partnerships or recognition and protection of indigenous and tribal peoples for the welfare of the people and the preservation of forest resources. This Ministerial Regulation is intended to provide guidance on granting rights to management, licensing, partnership and customary forest in the field of Social Forestry. This Ministerial Regulation aims to solve tenure and justice problems for local communities and indigenous and tribal peoples within or around forest areas in the context of community welfare and forest function preservation. Management of Social Forestry principles: a. justice; b. sustainability; c. legal certainty; d. participation; and e. accountability.
