Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry no. P.62/Menlhk/Setjen/Kum.1/10/2019 concerning the Development of Industrial Plantation Forests.

his Ministerial Regulations provides for definition of measures implementing the development of forest plantation industry, in order to increase forest productivity, diversify forest production, enhance sustainability of industrial forest raw materials, improve environmental protection standards, develop community empowerment. This Regulation concerns: industrial plantation forest; business permit for the utilisation of timber forest products; silvicultural system; selection of seeds for planting activity; cultivation area and selection of trees; protected area; environmental sustainability; community forest; agroforestry; renewable energy derived from vegetable sources, in form of biomass, biofuels and non-timber forest products; selective logging; peat ecosystem functions; ecosystem and biodiversity protection; local communities. Matters covered by this Regulation include: research provisions; criteria for definition of a forest working area, including characteristics of soil; rainfall intensity; soil erosion; distance to the boundaries of rivers, lakes, springs, reservoirs; coastal boundaries; cultural heritage and knowledge; wildlife protection; areas prone to natural disaster. The Regulation focuses on: silvicultural systems; plant types and their protection; integrated management on pest and diseases; woody forest plants cultivation and supply of industrial raw materials; use of plants for medicinal purposes. The attached schedules concern: list of types of wood forest plants allowed in the development of industrial plantation forests; agroforestry related activities, including: animal husbandry, apiculture, sericulture, crops cultivation.
