Abstract
For the purpose of implementing Council Directive 95/23/EC in so far as it relates to the veterinary examination of animals and meat these Regulations amend the grounds upon which animals or meat may be declared to be unfit for human consumption. An added ground is the condition of the hide, fleece or skin of an animal, as a consequence of faecal soiling or the presence of adherent material, is such as to increase the risk of cross contamination of the carcase during carcase dressing procedures.
