Abstract
This Order concerns the inspection of pig meat with regard to the presence of salmonella so as to ascertain if it is fit for human consumption.
A veterinary inspector may condemn meat for human consumption unless it comes from a categorized herd within the meaning of the Diseases of Animals Act 1966 (Salmonella in Pigs) Order 2007 and certain results from testing were obtained or the meat has been subjected to specified heat treatment or an other treatment approved by the Minister. Meat declared to be unfit for human consumption shall be: immediately isolated from other meat by the occupier of the establishment and marked, stained, stored and disposed of in accordance with this Order.
