Abstract
The Regulations, which cover the marketing and use of additives in feedingstuffs, consolidate existing legislation and implement additional amendments made to Council Directive 70/524/EEC. A person shall not manufacture, deliver, market etc. additives, premixtures, supplementary feedingstuffs or medicinal additives if the conditions set out in the present Regulations, and in particular those laid down in Schedules 1 to 3, are not met. Marketing of medicinal additives requires a licence (reg. 6). (44 regulations completed by four Schedules: Various requirements for labelling of feedingstuffs are included. The Regulations revoke the European Communities (Feedingstuffs) (Additives) Regulations, 1974 to 1987.These Regulations have been amended in the Schedules in 1991 (twice), 1993, 1994, 1995 (twice), 1996 (twice), 1997, and 1998 so as to implement EC legislation in this field.
