Abstract
These Regulations to give effect to Council Directive 2000/113/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council and prescribe and harmonise, within the European Union, standards for the composition and labelling of fruit jams, jellies, marmalades and sweetened chestnut puree products. The Directive lays down special standards which shall apply to the products defined in Annex I, namely jam, extra-jam and jelly. Only the ingredients listed in Annex II and raw materials which comply with Annex III may be used in the manufacture of the above-mentioned products.
