Abstract
These Regulations implemente EC Directives which lay down the health rules for the production and marketing of meat products and other products of animal origin intended for human consumption or for the preparation of other foodstuffs. They cover the standards of manufacturing premises and the operational procedures for hygienic production.
The 23 regulations are divided into 8 Parts: Preliminary (I);Approval of meat products establishments (II); Conditions for the production and marketing of meat products (III); Conditions relating to all establishments (IV); Prepared meals and other products of animal origin (V); Ministerial approval, inspection and supervision (VI); Certification (VII); Miscellaneous provisions (VIII).
A person shall not produce or cause to be produced, rewrap, reassemble, store or place on the market meat products and other products of animal origin which are intended for human consumption or for the preparation of other foodstuffs other than in compliance with these Regulations. (Completed by 4 Schedules)
