European Communities (Notification of Small Hive Beetle and Tropilaelaps Mite) Regulations 2009 (S.I. No. 589 of 2009).

These Regulations give effect to Community Directive 92/65/EEC laying down animal health requirements. The Regulations require any person having in his or her possession or under his or her control or a person carrying out examinations to report to Minister on infestation or a suspected infestation of small hive beetle (Aethina tumida) or Tropilaelaps mite (Tropilaelaps spp.) in bees. Other provisions of these Regulations concern appointment and powers of authorized officers and prescribe offences.
