European Communities (Quality of Shellfish Waters) Regulations 2006 (S.I. No. 268 of 2006).

The object of these Regulations is to give effect in the State to Directive 79/923/EEC of on the quality required of shellfish waters. They prescribe quality standards for shellfish waters and designate the waters to which they apply, together with sampling and analysis procedures to be used to determine compliance with the quality standards. The Regulations also require the preparation and implementation of action programmes in respect of all such waters.
