Abstract
These Regulations give effect in Ireland to Community legislation relative to authorization and operation of ship inspection and survey organizations. The Minister may grant an authorization to an organization recognized under Community legislation to carry out inspections and surveys of Irish ships related to statutory certificates including those for the assessment of compliance with Article 11 of Directive 2009/15/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council and for purposes of compliance with international maritime conventions. An organization which is failing to comply with the relevant provisions of the Directive, the EC Regulation or any authorization, may be given by the Minister a direction to comply.
