Abstract
These Regulations set rules relative to the ingredients used for the production of spirit drinks and to description, labelling and protection of geographical indications of spirit drinks. They also confer certain powers of enforcement on authorized officers.
The Regulations prohibit the use of ingredients of non-agricultural origin or that do not meet specified requirements as set out by Regulation (EC) No. 110/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council. It also defines as offences the labelling, packing and indication of geographical indication that is not conform rules as set out by the Community Regulation.
